Single Sign-On and Password Protection

Provide easier, faster access to enterprise information for customers, partners and employees

True single sign-on, to all of an enterprise's heterogeneous target systems, has been an elusive goal for many enterprises. In fact, the term single sign-on or SSO is traditionally a misnomer and might better be labeled as "reduced sign-on." In either case, there are two SSO platforms that need to be addressed:

1) Web Single Sign-On

Web Single Sign-On (SSO) is designed to provide a foundation that gives users role-based access to multiple Web applications from a single, secure point of contact. Instead of needing to separately log in to multiple applications, users can gain access to any Web application, on any server that is already authorized by their profile.

There are other benefits as well. Instead of building and managing separate authentication and authorization components for each individual application - which can be extremely costly and time consuming - a Web SSO infrastructure allows your organization to provide a set of authentication and authorization services that can be leveraged across multiple applications and business units. Web SSO also serves as the foundation for providing personalized applications for individual users.

2) Enterprise Single Sign-On

Enterprise Single Sign-On (ESSO) is the capability for users to access all their heterogeneous target system environments after authenticating once, and almost always without modification to the target systems.

Logic Trends helps customers improve end user experiences and eliminate the number one security weakness in IT networks: poor password selection and management. Through our Identity Management expertise, and in close alignment with our leading ESSO partners, Logic Trends helps protect your organization against password theft and unauthorized access with strong, two-factor authentication that accurately identifies a user and controls access to your critical applications and resources.
